Invest In Your Business

Why not spend money to invest in your business? If you don’t, you will still have to payout the same money in taxes. So instead of investing in the growth of your company you end up handing that money over to the government. In either case, the money is gone. Why not save time, energy, and put your money where it counts?

We often feel guilty about investing in our business: investing is expensive and we may not see the payout or benefits right away. However, the higher reporting income you have means you have to pay more in taxes at the end of the year. Ouch.

Why not save time, energy, and put your money where it counts? We often feel guilty about investing in our business: investing is expensive and we may not see the payout or benefits right away. However, the higher reporting income you have means you have to pay more in taxes at the end of the year. Ouch. Invest in a Qualified Team For simplicity's sake let's say you make $400 and your estimated taxes are 33%. From the $400 you keep $268 and pay the government $132 in taxes. In another scenario, let's say you make $400 and your estimated taxes are 33%. However, this time, you pay an assistant $120 to assist you with the project. Because you pay taxes on only the remaining $280, you only have to pay $92.4 in taxes, which is about $40 less in taxes. Of course, you spend a little more in scenario two on the assistant, but you invested in the betterment of your business. Here at Wild Optix Designs, our favorite way to invest in our business is by working with top-talent. We are proud to have an amazing team with many diverse areas of expertise. Invest in Marketing Touchpoints What are some other ways that you can put your money where it counts? Invest in marketing touchpoints. A marketing touchpoint is any encounter someone has with your business. These encounters can be social media posts, blogs, email campaigns, SMS, in-person meet-ups, and any kind of paid ad such as newspaper, radio, social media, and Google ads. Some research suggests that it can take hundreds of online encounters with a business before they have established enough trust with the potential buyer to turn encounters into sales. With that being said, meeting someone in-person just one time can be enough to build a relationship! Make sure you are going to those networking events and building strong relationships to improve your word-of-mouth recommendations. What Do Marketing Touchpoints Mean for Your Business? Work into the habit of using all avenues of marketing including social media channels, emails, blogs, SMS, in-person networking events, and paid advertising. All touchpoints support each other. Just because one avenue doesn’t convert, doesn’t mean it is not paying off. You are creating a marketing touchpoint and INCREASING the likelihood of someone turning into a customer somewhere else or at a later time. For example, Pinterest is amazing for SEO. Everytime you create a pin with a link to your website, you are creating a backlink. The more backlinks you have means the higher your site will rank in search results. So while you may not be getting customers from Pinterest directly, you are increasing marketing touch points and also improving your site in search results, which may result in an increased chance of customers coming from Google. Look at it from a different view; let's say a potential customer signs up for your email campaign and opens the message that you sent. Later that week they take the time to watch your Instagram Reel because your business name sparked their interest after skimming through your email. A day or two later, they receive a SMS and decide to take action! Did they take action because your text alert was really special? Of course we hope so, but probably not. It is much more likely that they took action because they have had your product and company on their minds throughout the week and they couldn’t help but pull the trigger when they saw that limited time sale. The sale came from an SMS, but really originated from an email-– a whole two touch points ago. Invest in Your Business As we discussed earlier, if the money has to go, make sure it's going to the right place.
